Job Description

The Quality and Commercialization Manager will focus primarily on quality and risk mitigation initiatives within the organization. Additional responsibilities include the commercialization of new products and processes. The candidate will report to the VP of Operations. This position will be based out of our office in the vibrant LoHi neighborhood of Denver, CO.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance - 75%
• Standardize product quality specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and performance targets across R&D, suppliers and contract manufacturers
• Investigate any finished product and/or ingredient quality issues, working directly with third parties (including labs) as needed
• Refine our quality escalation plan and identify, report, investigate and (as needed) escalate any food safety and quality issues
• Execute internal quality audits and mock recalls on a quarterly basis and mitigate deficiencies (if needed)
• Partner with our contract manufacturers to proactively make recommendations and offer solutions to improve product quality and/or efficiency
• Formalize and execute shelf-life challenge studies
• Continuously improve our quality and/or food safety process controls
• Keep abreast of FDA and USDA regulations and expectations, and develop plans (if needed) to ensure we continuously meet or exceed expectations, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory
or authoritative body inspections
• Maintain good standing with certifiers and remain knowledgeable on trends and changes within the industry
• Keep internal records up to date and organized
• Other additional duties and projects as assigned 

Commercialization - 25%
• Support the commercialization process of new SKUs and products with our manufacturers
• Create (as needed) and maintain internal commercialization packets for existing and new products
• Ensure adherence to commercialization timelines and keep organization accountable
• Assist with weekly project management meetings and task assignment
• Other additional duties and projects as assigned 


• Bachelor’s degree
• 3-5 years of experience managing food safety or supervising quality assurance in an FDA or USDA
facility (CPG/food industry is a must)
• Strong working knowledge of US food manufacturing including Food GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, SQF,
FSMA readiness and compliance, auditing and inspections, and environmental guidelines.
• Auditing / recall expertise is preferred
• Experience and strong working knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations and program requirements • Experience in the processing of foods (floor, lab, co-packing) and in pathogen-testing protocols
